Gael Portillo
Student of The Year 2023
In February 2022, a young man of just 15 years of age joined our group. Without previous training in the art of dance but with a great personality, discipline and perseverance, he has shown incredible results in a short amount of time by putting his heart into what he does.
Gael Portillo has just celebrated one year of dancing with us and we would like to share the enormous pride we feel in having a young man so passionate about Mexican folklore in our company.
Gael at the beginning visualized himself big until he achieved it. He did not hesitate to approach his teachers and ask for their advice on how to improve as a dancer. His perseverance in classes and his practice also at home, made him earn a place in the most advanced group we offer, where he is much loved and admired.
Sima Ballet Folklorico wants to recognize Gael Portillo as the student of the year, giving us the example of the famous saying “Wanting is power”. We proudly and emphatically highlight such great skills that demonstrate excellence in our institution on the part of our outstanding student:
