Angel Aguilar

Student of the year
2024-2025

Young Aguilar affirms that this significant change has allowed him to develop both as an individual and as a dancer. He claims that moving has made him a better individual, helped him socialize more, and, most importantly, has enhanced his growth in the art of dance. This student of the year tells us that his parents' support is essential in his life and that he is deeply grateful to them. He also states that he feels great pride in dancing, representing Mexican culture due to his origins, and that the feeling of dancing is very profound, particularly when dancing in Jalisco, since it was the first region he learned. He expressed the following words from his heart, which symbolize him both in the present and in the future.

Ángel Maximiliano Aguilar López was born on November 16 in Dallas, Texas. He is the descendant of Jorge Aguilar, from Guanajuato, and Mrs. Dora Ilda López, from Monterrey, Nuevo León. Ángel is in 11th grade in high school and plays on his school’s soccer team. He would like to be an architect as a profession. At the age of ten, he unexpectedly began his dance career. His sister’s ballet teacher, who was attending his practices, invited him and he accepted, and that was how he joined the “Ballet Hispanic of the Arts.” In March 2024, he made a change and joined SIMA Ballet Folklórico, traveling to Indonesia with the company.

“You only have one life, so enjoy it to the fullest. Make people happy with smiles and help as many people as you can. Make money and enjoy life.”

- Angel Aguilar -

“How you think affects how much you accomplish, so always have a positive attitude. Work hard to improve yourself no matter what others think; at the end of the day, only you know your true self. Don’t let what others think affect you. If you do, you’ll only be hurting yourself. Don’t let it affect you too much, because in the end, you’ll just be fighting against yourself.”

- Angel Aguilar -

He expressed his gratitude to the SIMA teachers, as since joining the ballet class, he has realized he is a better human being and a better dancer. He also notes that dance has allowed him to manage his emotions, collaborate in groups, and socialize. Similarly, he affirms that he has learned to better understand his parents' country, despite feeling Mexican, all through this beautiful art.
