Maestra Angeles Luna

With a career spanning more than 43 years in Mexican folkloric dance, Maestra María de los Ángeles Luna Ramírez has developed an outstanding trajectory as a dancer, choreographer, and instructor. She has been a fundamental member of the Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad Veracruzana, where she performed as a soloist for 27 years and has served as Assistant Director and Choreographer since 2010.

Our Story

She has participated in numerous national and international tours, representing Mexico in countries such as Spain, Belgium, France, Bolivia, Cuba, Panama, Chile, Brazil, and the United States, bringing the richness of Mexican folklore to stages around the world.

In the field of education, she has taught at various institutions including Universidad Veracruzana, Escuela Normal Superior del Estado de Puebla, CBTis No. 13, and Instituto Regional de Danza “Azueta”, as well as private schools and institutions, training numerous generations of dancers.

​

As a choreographer, she took part in the artistic creation for the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, in addition to collaborating in seminars, festivals, and cultural events at the state, national, and international levels.

She has served as a judge in various cultural competitions and has received the “Xochipilli Macuilxochitl” award multiple times at the Encuentro de Arte y Cultura, along with several recognitions for her work in the preservation and promotion of traditional Mexican dance.

She is currently a member of the INBAL Council (2025–present), reaffirming her commitment to the development and promotion of culture in Mexico.
